Learning Lapidary
Learning means creating a lot of things you aren't 100% happy with. It means pushing through the awkward designs and technical limitations while you get a handle on the tools and materials in front of you. Here are some of the products of the learning process: 1) A handmade chain and hand-polished ammonite and, 2) A hand-cut cabochon from the fossiliferous remains of freshwater snails (Goniobasis species) collected in Wamsutter, Wyoming and set in a trilobite-like bezel.
