Pete's Impact

This pin was made for Peter Schultz, the professor who introduced me to Planetary Geology at Brown. The large sphere is a contour map of the planet Mars. It's made of silver but has been left with an unfinished face because I loved the colors the flame left on the surface. As a result, the piece will change color over time.

The smaller brass design is my interoperation of an impact crater - Pete's focus of study for many years. I really enjoyed making tiny craters and experimenting with hand tools and textures.
